Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter as well as mixed martial artist who is currently fighting in the flyweight division of UFC. She is the younger sister of the fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her journey into fighting sports by becoming a Muay Thai boxer. Shevchenko made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals via a majority verdict. Antonina followed it up and won a silver medal in 2007 a bronze medal in 2008 a gold medal in 2011, and was the 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in at the age of 2003. She won at the world championships for light Welterweight at WKC in 2012 as well as The Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina was the last time she fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in her fight at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was able to win by a unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko began her professional MMA professional career back in the year 2002, with a win over Anara Baanova, during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She was victorious by second round TKO and then won the next two fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003, accumulating an overall record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a hiatus to pursue the sport of kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui in Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by a majority vote and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in 2017. She resigned from the organization and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's striking skills were superior and allowed her to TKO Nievera via knees in the lower body. Antonina accepted a UFC offer after her victory. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi by the unanimous verdict. But, she was unable to win her next bout due to an unanimous verdict. Antonina bounced off the loss and fought Lucie Prudilova's battle at UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler who was able to win the fight by back naked choke submission. It was the top fight of the night for that bout. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three fights before losing her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina has recently been knocked out by Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
